The miracle of spring never ceases to blow my mind! I don't understand how anything can just sit there outside the whole winter long, especially during the terribly frigid months of January and February, and survive it. I already have some of the happiest looking weeds that have ever been seen!

Ruff, SF must be in a slightly warmer zone than inside 128. Not much is out yet, though I did see a few day lily sprouts in a sunny yard when I was walking Kayla.
We used to be a zone 5 but with global warming there's a bit of a curve or bubble from zone 6 that comes up into MA right about where we are. It's likely because of the Connecticut valley. The ocean water temp must be a huge factor out your way.
Half of my crocus bed is still under the heap of snow that was shoveled off the deck but the uncovered half has crocus points. There are a few (very few) daffodil points poking up and there are definite green day lily tips scattered all around the upper level of my yard.
