I just read over on Soapcentral.com where V loses the baby. Did the head writer of this show lose babies on a regular basis herself? Where is this coming from? Finally, we had a storyline Trent and Ewa could really sink their teeth into and they are ending it just like that? I will find out where to call ATWT and give whoever answers a really big piece of my mind about this one. I am so sick of "Henry" being the joker on this show. When will the writers wake up and realize what a gold mine they have in Trent? And Ewa is fantastic, also when given good material. So disappointed. Now, let me go make my phone call before my head explodes.
My comments/questions are as follows: when are the writers of this show going to stop murdering babies all over the place? Also- when are the writers going to wake up and realize that they have an absolute goldmine in Trent Dawson? There could have been so many wonderful storylines connected to the birth of Henry and Vienna's baby. But, NO. After years of playing comedic relief for this show Trent was finally given a chance to show his acting chops with this storyline. We, Trent's fans, are many and we are very angry. We do not want to see him fade back into the backround and throw around one liners one or two days a week in the diner. This is the most disgusting underuse of a talent I have ever witnessed. And, Ewa is deserving of better material than than what she is written, too. When given the chance: the non-wedding, the reconciliation, etc she is brilliant. Please realize that the fans make or break this show. I know I will not tune into see Henry and Vienna lose this baby and go back to being on the backburner. And, I am not alone. Enough with the new, useless characters. Use who you are lucky enough to have and write them some good material or ATWT will go the way of the Guiding Light and we will all lose characters like Henry, Bob, Kim, Susan, Barbara, Lucinda, Lily etc. who have been mainstays in our own lives for as longs as we can remember.
I totally agree. I thought that Henry, Vienna and "baby makes three" was a wonderful, heartfelt storyline--so well written and acted. There were so many directions this plot could go--finally a unique and refreshing storyline with performers who gave it all they had from pathos to humor. (Did you read my post "the morthping of Henry?)
I'm so tired of the recent repititious plots--they just change time, place and characters (their favorites). And they have a real winner with Trent, Ewa and a baby-to-be and apparently don't know it or don't know how to deal with it.
When you find out where our protests should go, let me know. In the meantime, I have a letter ready to send to Goutman about what a winner "baby makes three" is. Guess I'll have to amend it with a protest about their "aborting" of that storyline.
I just went to ATWT.net and lodged my complaint under the contact us section. I got a generic reply from them this morning. Something along the lines of "thank you for contacting us. we are continually trying to improve (blah blah blah) and your feedback is important to us. (yeah, right) Continue to watch Guiding Light (what?!).....If you have any more luck- like where to CALL - I want to know! I will call, too!
I think that losing the baby with give Trent a lot of dramatic scenes to play and a story that could go on for quite some time. If Vienna and Henry had the baby, they'd be written off into the corner and we'd never see them.
I understand that in real life women miscarry all the time. However, enough is enough. ONE of our characters just has to be happy for more than at least 5 minutes. My main concern is that the writers will write Trent and Ewa a few really good scenes and then have them fade into the backround again. I hope the writers finally let Henry see what a pain in the ass Katie is and how one-sided their friendship has always been. I would like to see Henry have a real friend. How about Dusty? He needs one! LOL!
I've been afraid, too, that they're ready to set Henry and Vienna aside and hoped that the baby line would keep them on the front burner for a while. The only thing I can see is that the outcome may be that Katie, Brad, Henry and Vienna will regain their friendship, but, again, that will put Katie and Brad in the forefront.
I'm still waiting for Katie to grow up and be a true and giving friend to Henry as he has been to her. But, please, not Dusty-one-note. I'm ready for him to leave Oakdale for quite a long while.

i think you may be right, amanda. soap babies tend to be mostly off-screen, until they're sent to boarding school and come back teenagers. while it would have been fun to see henry and vienna as parents, this will also give them a lot of drama to play.
i hear there's some good stuff coming for our favorite couple, so don't give up hope yet!
