thanks trent! game starts in about an hour and i'm already nervous!
amanda, we're talking baseball. :) the twins tied the tigers for the lead in the central division after trailing them all year, and they're playing a one game tie-breaker today. the winner faces the yankees in the division series.
it's true that the twins have a hard time beating the yankees, especially in yankee stadium. but they're the underdogs, they've got nothing to lose! all the pressure will be on the yankees, and no one's hotter than the twins right now. :) but i better not get ahead of myself....
Well, our entire family (minus one or two) are Cubs fans. Can you imagine how disheartening that is at this time of year? In fact, one son keeps putting a cubs hat on his Dad's tombstone to keep the faith. You can see we're faithful, true blue and red and will never give up hope. So good luck, Jill, and Trent too, with your favorite teams.
Glad you understand, Jill. So guess that means I should support the Twins in the next game. It's always good to see an underdog move up in the game(s). I'll be watching. Good luck!
As the t-shirt says, I root for teams, the Red Sox and whoever plays the Yankees! So for this series, I say "GO TWINS" (sorry Yankees fans, nothing personal -- well, maybe a little...).

LOL I like that Tee-shirt! You know I went to a Sox game Aug 26th, It was Wakefields return game.. and they were making ppl turn tees inside out if it was hating gear... Chowdaheadz.com has a lot of that, so now what am I gonna wear when I get to hit a game?
A lot of those are really funny, but I'm not a big fan of the "Yankees S*ck" stuff. I love to hate them, but I guess 'cause I'm married to a Yankees fan, I'm sensitive to the nasty stuff. I don't think it sets a great example for kids. Do they at least let you turn your shirt around in a ladies room?
Um, ppl had tees inside out, but they don't let you in Fenway til they already are turned.. So I'm thinking you'd have to find a restaurant or something. I have a few tees from that shop. "Through thick and thin I bleed red", "Lustin' for Dustin", "Sox fans make better lovers" and then one that has a Bball diamond that says " Bigger fan then my boyfriend". I don't have any one with personal attacks on players, I think that is kinda pushing it, but if I'm honest the zebra tee was gonna be my next buy, not gonna bother now though...

Good heavens, what's wrong with those?! I work with elementary school children, so I'm pretty sensitive to inappropriate material, but that's ridiculous! Maybe they just want to see women take off their t-shirts!
At 81, I guess I'm just old-fashioned, but what ever happened to good-natured rivalry in sports. Don't we have enough hate and nastiness elsewhere in our country?
Our politicians can't see beyond their hate of policies other than their own, we are gullible to all kinds of ridiculous lies, civility is out the window, and name-calling is the norm. No wonder our children beat and bully each other.
I had hoped that one of the last bastions of honest fun and healthy rivalty was the field of sports. Too bad.
(Sorry, saw a "soap box" and just couldn't resist.)

No, I didn't have to but ppl in line before me did. I was with my daughter I had on the " Bigger fan then my boyfriend" tee on. The ones that they were making ppl turn inside out were ones with personal attacks. I got to say, some of them were pretty cruel. I think that its every stadium too, and not just Fenway.. But who knows? The only tee I have that I wouldn't chance going down there wearing is " Sox fans make better lovers"

JJ, soap box away! I totally agree with you! Too much nastiness and not enough civility. The motto of our school is "Respect, responsibility, best effort." Too bad the news media and politicians aren't in elementary school -- they might learn a thing or two. The thing I find so ironic is we've got SO many more avenues of communication than we had even 20 years ago and yet we use it to spread MISinformation. As a library teacher, this just steams my clams!
Oh, sorry, I forgot, this is a soap forum ... oops! From soaps to baseball to the state of the world as we know it. You got me started!
Stewie, I really don't like personal attacks, they seem so middle school bullyish to me. Grow up *rolling eyes*
The month of October tends to be a bit emotional for us Red Sox fans. We're either on top of the world or on the brink of despair -- a very bipolar season, LOL!
