Just kidding, you know I hate the little creatures! But this is too funny not to share.
The building I used to work in is a Command Hdqrs, and used to house an Admiral. The building is beautiful, circular drive in front with a large flag pole in the middle, and a very scenic pond right next to it. Pond comes complete with many "protected" (ill mannered, disgusting, poop filled) geese that live there year round. Since Admirals can command multiple units stationed in different places, and can command from any of them, we haven't had one here for a number of years. But about two months ago, the building once again became home to an Admiral.
Now bear in mind, it is not a good idea to get on the wrong side of an Admiral. He can do things other people can't. I don't think geese understand that. Had to do some work in my old building earlier this week, and guess what I saw?? Base Game Warden truck with cage in back, filled with geese and driving away. NOT ONE GOOSE IN THE LAKE!!
Now this is all a guess, and reading between the lines, but I don't think goose poop on the sidewalk and the Admirals white shoes were a very good match. I am scratching my head though, I'm not sure how even an Admiral can trump the protected goose status!
Four of our Brave Winged Combat Geese have returned to their home base. I shall stand watch and report as necessary until all brave souls have returned to their true home to roost.
Alas, as much as I would have liked their ultimate sacrifice to help feed the hungry this Thanksgiving, looks as if their were let go at another pond on base.
