Does anyone know how to get old scotch tape off a door? Once upon a time, it held up a cute little sign. Now the door needs to be painted and this tape doesn't want to come off. It is very hard to grab. The little bitty bits that I get, break away.
I'd try warming it up with a hair dryer, or dab it with nail polish remover or paint thinner since the wall is going to be painted anyways. Did you try sanding it off?
No. Other pieces have come right off. This tape I didn't see. It's had a wash over with the 409 rag. Now it is stuck. I'm painting the doors in the upstairs entry.
I would have suggested a hair dryer as well. But if that doesn't help do you have any "Goo Gone"? It's great for getting goey stuff off. If not, try rubbing on a little peanut butter. Sometimes something with oil in it helps to loosen things.
