Speaking of snow .............

Snowflakes fall at about 1 foot per second.

A single cubic foot of snow may contain 10 million individual flakes.

Over time, enough snow has fallen on the earth to cover it to a depth of 50 miles.

I don't know how long you've been praying for snow Amanda, but I'll tell you this:  If I'm ever in a tough situation, I definitely want YOU in my prayer support group!

LOL, Ruff!  Amanda, I hope you appreciate all we've done for you to shift the jet stream!

It's messy, but it's very exciting to finally get some real snow. It is piled up everywhere. And since we stay in the low temps all winter long, it doesn't melt away. So it just keeps getting piled higher and higher. Looks like we're in for a little more tomorrow!

What you're describing sounds like a New England winter to me!  I want a snow day, but you can keep all the snow this year.  I know it's not snowing here because we have a shiny new snowblower in our garage.  biggrin

It's certainly a whole other world for us. There is only one other time in my life I can recall getting as much snow as we have so far this winter, and that was a freak occurrence of one huge snowfall.

Normally, we MIGHT see snow once during the winter if we're lucky, and then it's barely enough to cover the grass in most cases -- nothing like this! I haven't even SEEN the grass in a month!

It does put a crimp in some things, and I am terrified of driving in the bad weather, but I am not about to start complaining yet! I am just enjoying the novelty.

I am curious to see if this trend lasts through the winter, though. Normally, when we do get snow, it comes in March, so by that logic, we're just getting warmed up! Or cooled off, as the case may be.

About a third of my backyard still has snow cover, but the rest is down to grass, which is a novelty for February.  We're about to get 6-10, but I think it's starting Wednesday mid-day which means we'll still have school.  It will be a mess going home, but they should be able to clean that up overnight.  It has been unusually cold here, we're just not getting the moisture.  My new down coat has seen a lot of action, LOL!

Amanda, I'm happy for you, I know how much you enjoy the white stuff.  smile

We don't know what we might be getting here yet.  They haven't said.

Ruff, I love that McDonald's ad for their coffee:  "5 inches?" "Dustin'!"
