This weekend is the Detroit Kennel Club Show :) Aaron is taking me to it and I hope I get to see a lot of my favourite breeds of dogs! I love Irish Wolfhounds and Newfoundlands, so I want to see them! This will be the 4rth year I have gone!!!
What a fun trip. I watched the Westminster Kennel Club show a few weeks ago, and it's always fun to root for one of the dogs. I'm a spaniel person and can't imagine owning a huge dog like a Newfie.
I had such a wonderful time. There were some great vendors that support causes such as dogs that are used for aides called Paws For A Cause. Then I went to the booth that helps homeless and abused animals and donated there also. I received free food from Purina and another company. Hopefully Kodi will like it! I visited all the breeds, this is only one of five shows that is called a bench show which means that regular people can visit the dogs, breeders, owners and handlers. I was able to see the breeds I love like Newfoundlands, Irish Wolfhounds, Borzois and Siberian Huskies. They had a Rare Breed aisle and that was cool! I found some new breeds that I would love to own! There was one breed called a Berger Picard and they were so friendly. The one that was greeting everyone was a boy and was so friendly. I wanted to dognap him :) The other breed in this catagory was a Caucasian Ovcharka and that was the biggest dog I have ever seen! The breed originated in Russia and it is huge.... It looks like a bear but I want one! I just had a great time there though. I love going every year. I forgot my camera so I do not have any pics :( Aaron did take some on his phone so we will have to see how to put them on the computer. I hope I can share them with you! :)
