Happy Easter to you, too, Ruffles, and to all the rest of you as well.
Ruff, did you sing today?
KK, did your team win? Are you getting dried out yet? Your water posts have been dreadful... but I'm glad you've not been hit as hard as others in the Northeast.
Yes, Celtics won, but they blew a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter. The end was a nail biter! It was fun to see LeBron James play. He's got the grace of a dancer, though his shooting was off today. We also saw Dr. Dre in the audience.
I'm watching the season opener -- Red Sox v. Yankees -- you know how THAT goes in this house with my Yankee fan husband! Ahhh, spring!
Light, water is still coming into our basement, but it's slowed down considerably. My dad's coming over during the day tomorrow to monitor the one pump we have going. We don't want the water to come up but don't want the pump to run dry. Thank goodness my parents live 2 miles away! Charlie and I both need to go to work tomorrow, so I'm glad my dad can babysit the basement for the day. The groundwater has to go back down eventually, right?!
Oh KK........As long as you have heat and hot water plus no serious house damage are the main things. What a deal this is for you. It can't be easy and needs to come to an end.
My son who lives in RI has been most fortunate. His home and neighborhood are completely dry. That flooded mall you've been hearing about is the mall that he uses. Even though roads are drying up, he couldn't get to his own church because of all the branches and litter left on the roads by all the water. No one has been answering the phone at his church either.
I don't belong to a church choir right now. Maybe some day. For Easter Sunday they end the service with The Hallelujah Chorus and invite members of the congregation to come forward to sing this with the choir if they wish. That's fun.
We had a very nice Easter family dinner at my daughters. Then I came home to find that the bracket holding the clothing rod in my closet had let go. The whole rod was dropped. The shelf, while tipped, still held several 3 ring binders of negatives thankfully. I was able to remove them safely myself. While this wasn't the mellow conclusion of the day's end that I had anticipated, we still had a beautiful family Easter. ........ It is amazing how many clothing items I had hanging on that rod! They are all over everywhere now. Every door knob upstairs is a hanging place and the upstairs railing is buried under mounds of draped clothing. Guess it is time to clean the closet! Hopefully my sil can fix this.

Oh, Ruff... I know the mess of your closet. I had that happen to me many years ago when I was out on vacation and I arrived home after a long day's drive to find everything I had in the closet in a pile on the floor. Uggh. And the inside of my closet is an odd shape so it made for a challenge as to how to put things back in there where the problem wouldn't replicate itself again. Seems the clips holding the wire shelving let go after so many years of stress. Anyways, I had way more clothing than I had places to put them until the closet was back in service again. I hope your repairs don't take long.
KK and Ruff, I sure hope the water receeds soon. Who would figure on that type flooding in those areas? And with all the snow you guys had, the ground was so saturated already. Sooner or later, things must dry up... hopefully, sooner than later, huh?
