Yes, I went to Dunkin Donuts to get my usual small ice coffee and the kid offered me a free donut. I thought, "How did he know I've had such a cruddy week?" LOL! So I took one and gave it to my son who was sleeping in (very) late after being at the senior prom.
So funny this topic is right above the summer shedders one!
I loved the irony of it being next to the summer shedders too. I was up late last night sewing--no news on the FM classic rock station so I had no idea of the time--and ended up watching the first few minutes of Jimmy Kimmel. In his monoloque he was saying what a great country he had....86% of the country was overweight but they still had room for National Donut Day. I just had to share it with you.
I plan to drive slowly past Tim Horton's and inhale deeply.
Eons ago, when we had Bess Eaton, the temptation for a donut was a serious matter. Their sweet glazed cake style confections were to die for. Since Bess Eaton left town and went out of business, all that's left around here is Dunkin Donut. Donut cravings are no longer a contentious matter. Not to worry......there's more than an ample and varied supply of sweet temptations in the Connecticut Valley.
