From the looks of it, we're about to get hammered with a nor'easter starting tonight and into tomorrow. They've already closed schools (260 closings at last count!). I didn't have to fight off too many people at the grocery store and I got my loaf of bread and some toilet paper, the essentials, LOL!
Amanda, any luck in the snow department? Good heavens, Charlotte NC was supposed to get 6 inches! This is a biggie!!!
Looks like the eastern end of the state will get more snow. We have 2 predictions for 6 to 10 but one for 7 - 12. Six or eight inches is a normal amount around here. Anything over 12 is a lot. We'll see how it goes. I'm going to miss being able to shovel but have a whole lot for which to be thankful so it's ok. My daughter will show up to run the snow thrower when she's able.
I was thinking of you all this morning! I am sure Amanda is happy. Karen, I feel your pain. snuggle in and hopefully someone else will do the shoveling for you. I am at 8 days (and counting) til I leave for New York, 14 days to beach time in Florida.....
Nope! but I'm thinking of all of you and sending you warm, margarita thoughts! Two more days to soak up sun and memories before I join you back shivering.
LOL, Meggie, and I've been thinking of you too! At this point I'd rather have a hot chocolate than a margarita, LOL!
It started snowing here around midnight and at 9AM we had 9 inches of snow in our driveway, so that's an inch an hour which is a pretty good rate. I just drove my son to a friend's house to work on their science project (due tomorrow). The major roads are cleared, but when you turn off onto a secondary road it's pretty dicey. It just started coming down again, but I don't think we're supposed to get much more. Kevin's track banquet is tonight and I believe it is still on, so I'm hoping it quits soon.
It has been years and years and years since we got that much. In the last two or three years, we didn't get 10 inches if you added up all the snow.
I got the day off yesterday, and work opened at 10:50 today. It took me a while to dig my car out, but it was worth it!
The snow started Sunday afternoon around 2:00 and went all night. Most of it on the front end melted because the ground was warm, but it piled up overnight. And whaddaya know? It was 13 degrees this morning and we're supposed to be back in the 70s before week's end.
Woo Hoo, Amanda!!! You lost your snow virginity!!! Now, do that every two weeks and you'll soon see how people can get tired of the shovelling and cancelled plans... or maybe not, LOL!
I have no sarcasm in my heart when I say I am SO happy for you! I love snow too, if you couldn't tell. (what a weird looking wink! like a creepy old man.)
Yes, I am so happy. I would be totally fine if it snowed again this weekend. (It won't, because it's gonna be 70, but you get the idea.) However, I do not welcome snow on the weekend after that when I'm driving to Nashville.
