I just finished watching yesterday's episode, I really have an issue with the final scene. Mallet brings home the baby to Marina and makes her come outside in the freezing cold to surprise her?
First, the scene lost any emotional attachment for me, due to the fact that there was no acting, I felt like I was looking over a fence about 50 feet away spying on my neighbors. The reaction of her seeing the child was equivalent like Mallet was giving Marina a new puppy instead of a baby.
Pretty much anything M&M is FF for me. Mallet & Dinah are sooooo much better together & I don't care if Rob & Mandy are a real life couple, I still see more chemistry onscreen between Rob & Gina than I do Rob & Mandy.
I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds pretty dreadful. The idea that you'd just bring home a child as a "surprise" for your wife is weird bordering on cruel. Most shelters require all family members to be present when you adopt a puppy, so it's even worse than it seems, Tony. :-/
Re: the whole family being there....Dinah was on hand to pretend to be Mallet's wife so they could get the baby.
Nevertheless, it was all pretty stupid and not AT ALL how adoption works ANYWHERE. And HUGE agree on how stupid it was that Mallet got Marina to come out on the porch. I guess it was supposed to be a big deal so Dinah could see, but it was just dumb.
Y'all know I love my girl Marina, but their storyline has been unwatchable to me from the beginning. I'm not over the rude, ridiculous, and untimely demise of "Cyrina" so I am far from impressed by the insta-relationship between Mallet and Marina, though I wish Rob and Mandy much happiness.
I FF through most of GL lately. Bill and Lizzie were dragged out so long I don't even care anymore. I was watching Grady, until he went off a cliff. And then there's Cyrus. That's about it.
Amanda, I hope this does not mean you are going to turn off the Light.
I feel very optimistic about GL. TPTB need to get rid of the characters that are just not cutting it. Grady, Daisy and imo Cyrus just makes me FF all the time.
Nah, I'll stick with it. I do like that Phillip is back -- I enjoy his interactions with Lizzie, et. al. I left that off my list before by mistake.
Both my shows (GL and ATWT) have been churning out some disappointing stuff as of late. ATWT has actually been pretty good so far this week, where I've gone weeks without watching a full show. I'm sure I'll always watch, but it used to be that I'd never FF anything on either of my shows. But now, if I am watching my tape and I start feeling like I'd rather be watching something else, I hit the FF button.
Also, if my Grady had to go over a cliff, the only person that should have thrown him over is Jonathan. Now THAT I'd watch!
That baby IS cute, though! They MUST have drugged him, LOL. He slept through most of the scenes and even when he was awake, he just got handed around. What a little cutie!
I don't usually get into soap guys, but Shayne is HOT! He has a young George Clooney thing going and he's a darn good actor (which unfortunately means he'll be on to greener pastures within about 2 years...). I'm sure Mandy and Rob are a nice couple to go to dinner with, but as M&M they are vanilla pudding. Kind of bland and pleasant, but not very exciting.
I'm with you KK! That Shane is super hot! This Shane makes all my suffering over the last Shane worth it!
And OF COURSE the baby is his... why else would Mallet get a baby from Bosnia of all places!? THIS is the "who's the daddy" story everyone is talking about, I"m sure of it.
I think that M&M are dull, dull, dull. I don't know if it's just because I find Marina such an annoying character, or if it's them together. I find it hard to believe that they're a couple in real life because I see zero chemistry between them.
On the other hand, I loved every minute of the scenes with Dinah and Mallet and I can't wait for a reunion.
