I decided not to go to New York next month for the ATWT luncheon. Michael won't be there, so that seemed to be as good a reason as any to skip it and stay home.
I will miss seeing our Trent, but it turns out, some of my friends are going down to Marco Island for the annual soap fest thing, and Trent is tentatively scheduled to attend that.
I've never been to Florida before, and Terri has been trying to get me down to Marco Island for years. I figure I can go and hang out with Terri, Heather, and Christy again, kick back for the weekend, and I'm sure the events will be fun, too.
I haven't booked my flight yet or anything, but as of right now I think I am flying into RSW (Ft. Myers). Is that near any of our Floridian friends?
It's both and some other shows, too. Some AMC and OLTL folks are going. Of course it's all tentative b/c shooting schedules can change, but there's a list of some of the folks going on their site. www.soapfest.com
It's on the other side of the coast from me and quite a bit south. It would be a day drive from here, there abouts. A few hours from Joel on the other side of the coast, too.

There didn't seem to be a lot of GL actors going. Are there some that are unconfirmed and end up showing up?
I'm not sure that this is the year to do it, but another year I might... my uncle lives not too far away so I could probably crash with him and his wife and drive to the events, if it meant saving some cash.
This will be my first year at this event, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is usually a smaller group of actors, and then there are some surprises. It depends on shooting schedules and whatnot whether the actors can make it down to FL for the weekend.
It seems like the group is usually the younger actors, as well. I heard somewhere that Murray is coming down, so that's good news in my book!
I am mostly going to hang out with my friends and have a relaxing weekend in FL. So, whoever shows up is fine by me.
