Last night was the eve of the big Twilight-fest. Six 12 year olds drooling over Edward.
Well, I will admit it... he's a very cute boy.
I think I enjoyed the movie more because I've read the book and I'm not sure I would have felt the same had I not done so.
Jacob is very cute too, much better than the last time I saw him as Sharkboy, and I'm looking forward to seeing him more in the next movie.
All in all, two thumbs up from me, although that one seen was a little much, in my opinion.
I found something out today that I found really shocking. At my kids' school, they have movie nights about once a month. Last week, they showed Twilight. My kids tell me that there were a lot of first and second graders who went to see it! I thought it was open to the older kids only, and was shocked to find out that not only was it open to the entire school but that parents sent their young children!! What were they thinking!? Even I was disturbed to see someone's head being ripped off! What is with some parents these days?
All the kids last night, however, were 6th graders. First thing this morning, Emily and her best friend got up and watched it again. At least once, possibly twice. Plus deleted scenes. I guess it was a hit. LOL
I thought Jasper's pinched look was too funny. I've been trying to think who he reminded me of, and it just came to me... he looks just like Johnny Depp as Edward Scissorhands! You know, the blank eyes, pinched mouth. But knowing Jasper's history from later books, I get why he looks that way.
I found the fight scene scarier than I expected and I didn't like that they showed as much as they did of destroying James. Hard with a room full of 12 year olds, I thought.
Sorry, Amanda, once again, you and I have very different tastes. I just found James icky.
OK, I haven't seen the movie, just read the first two novels, but looking at Amanda's banner, I have to say it's hard for me to dig a guy who wears lipstick and eyeliner and is cold to the touch. I just don't get it! What can I say, I like 'em warm and manly (and human is a big plus).
