A robin is building her nest in the sugar maple outside my window. It's difficult to get a good view of it. I'm not sure how durable this one will be. It is only resting on one branch and a lot of nesting material is dangling below it. I hope she knows what she is doing.
Birds are fascinating creatures. Can you imagine having to actually build your nursery from scatch every time you had a child, find food, raise the children, protect them from predators and then teach them to fly in only a few weeks? Truly amazing! The phrase 'bird brain' should be the highest compliment.

Exactly........Don't know how much of a chance I will have to watch for her tomorrow AM. Things might be a little busy for a bit. ... She did return later this afternoon, lingered and wanted her (missing) nest. It's on the ground.
It is made of straw like fibers and also mud. The mud, with fiber strands in it, formed the base and cup shape.
