This year I'm thankful for you guys, for sticking with me and the show for so long. I'm thankful for the word "for". I'm thankful for my cats, for a World Series, for the Saints being 10-0, and for my family. I'm thankful for the weather in Tampa, thankful that a local store had a turkey b/c the oven here conked out after a power surge so we had to abandon our bird, thankful for candied yams (so,so thankful), thankful for food comas. I'm thankful that I got to hang out with a 93 year old today. I'm thankful to be here.
Happy Thanksgiving

Hey, Uncle H., I have to ditto your thankfuls, except substitute goofy golden retriever for cats (though I really miss my Tiger) and thankful for another season to beat the Yankees!  biggrin

You make me thankful for my stove because our refrigerator conked out, guess it could be worse, LOL!

And I'm thankful that the crowd over here makes me feel so at home even though I'm an ATWT newbie.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm thankful that, at 81, I'm still here.  I'm thankful that my children and grandchildren want me to come and visit for the holidays.  I spent Thanksgiving in NJ where we observed the first anniversary of a cat's adoption, then back to Florida to warm up.  Next, I'll spend Christmas in Indianapolis and the New Year in Evanston IL, then back to Florida to warm up--until June.

I'm thankful that ATWT is still on the air, as are you, Trent.  The only thing I missed were the candied yams--hope you ate enough for both of us.

Wishing all of you a blessed Advent and wonderful Christmas!

Thanks, KarenK, for including Hanukkah.  I have a daughter who sings at Temple for all the high holy days.  It is very meaningful to her.

Jo, she must have a very good voice.  My brother was on the hiring committee at his temple and a good cantor is hard to find!

My Illinois daughter is a profession singer (Mezzo) and has sung in many of the Chicago choruses and done solo work as well.  She is a paid soloist at her church (one of four).  Their organist plays and the four soloists sing at Temple and a couple of times the Jewish choir has sung at her church.  They have a wonderful appreciation for each other and Beth loves the music of High Holy Days. and appreciates the heritage as well.  She is not a Cantor, but the Cantor has sung at her church when I was there and she is a beautiful person with a beautiful voice.

That is so cool!  I am Christian, but my brother's family and many of my friend and neighbors are Jewish, so I've been to several bar and bat mitzvahs.  I've always been so moved by the service.  The rabbi at our local synagogue encourages everyone to join in the singing, even if you're new to it and don't know what you're doing.  It was so welcoming!
