How's the weather where you are?

At 5:00 PM, it is not snowing here yet.  Originally we were only supposed to get 4 inches but now we are due to get 7-13 inches which is still less than a full brunted blow.  This should be a good one for the snow thrower.  ... KK, What's supposed to happen at your place?  Make sure any debris, i.e. sticks, rocks, ice chunks, pine cones etc are cleaned away from your new snow thrower's path.  This stuff can cause problems that you don't want.  ...  EvilStewie, you're either getting less  cuz your on the fringe or more cuz you're in the hills. Which is it?  ...  My gift shopping is done.  After the storm mess is cleared, I can start planning and shopping for our Christmas dinner.  By then, that will be all I need to think about.  Everything else will be all set.  Nice!

It's fun being snug in your home when these things happen.

Amanda should be outside making snowmen or snow angels by tomorrow.  Betcha she's taking pictures for her next blog!

All you Georgians & Floridians had better duck.  My snow thrower will be aimed south!  *grin*

Hey!  Amanda's getting more than us!!!  aww I think we're on the fringe of 9-10, so not too bad, but we should be able to test drive the new snowblower!  *thumbs up!*

The Stop & Shop was crazy by 9 am.  Yes, I agree, it does feel good to get all your errands done then sit back and enjoy mother nature.  I've got a yule log burning in the fireplace (along with many Kayla "sticks") and a meatloaf in the oven.  A glass of wine is waiting for me, so BBL!  biggrin

Id say we have about a foot and it's still coming down.  From the radar it looks like it's swirling in off the ocean, probably adding a little more accumulation than they predicted.  Very peaceful, though.

All of 2 1/2 inches of fluff landed in my driveway!  Plant tips and markers are easily visible across the yard.  It was an easy shoveling.  ...  The birds are very busy at the feeder.  Their feathers are all fluffed and plumped out because of the cold.  They look beautiful.

Yeah, this is definitely an Eastern storm.  Worcester only got 2-4 inches, according to the local news.  They usually get hammered!

Glad to hear you are all 'enjoying' the storm.  It's nice to be home bound if you have everything done, don't have to go anywhere, and can just sit back and watch the flakes.

18 inches, Amanda?! Wow!  I hope you
are putting some snowballs in the freezer for the summer.  Make lots of snow angels and stay off the roads.

Uh, Ruff, could you kindly point your snowblower in another direction? I've got 5 orchids in bloom right now and we are dipping down to the lower 40's for the next 2 nights ::) I had to take them all onto the backporch to shelter them from the cold. I used to bring them into the bathroom until I had a family of ants come in that way. :P

Light.....You are down there growing orchids while the largest Nor'easter ever is crawling up and disabling the east coast?  Tisk!  Tisk!  You are in luck this time light.  There weren't enough flakes worth blowing...at least not from anywhere around here.  You say your thermometer is headed for the 40s?  Sounds like a heat wave to me.  *grin*

KK,  Have you tried out your new snow thrower yet?

You might not be blowing the snow, but the cold air sure has come this far :P Don't you be giving any of the rest of them ideas now...

I've got such lovely orchids blooming right now- 2 large sprays of my yellow and brown dancing ladies that are at least 2 feet high but little dancing ladies filling up the space. So fun, makes me think of the 12 days of Christmas... my white oncidium and my white dendrobium are blooming in respect of your white snow up in the Northeast, plus a pink and purple Catlaya just for fun :)

I can tell you it wasn't fun out there bringing them in- it's COLD!

We are very happy with our new snowblower! Charlie and Kevin went over to do a neighbor's driveway -- the husband is laid up with double knee replacements -- YIKES!  The snow is so powdery!  But poor Kayla, it's up to her belly and she has to hop over it to go potty.  hmm She's knocked herself out and she's sound asleep on her bed next to the floorboard heater.  aww

If I stand for anything, it's flowers but the concept of any flower actually growing outside at this time of year pushes the imagination!  Light, you need to nurture your floral beauties for the rest of us until we thaw out, which won't happen until March.  Right now, we have poinsettias everywhere here, inside of course, but their warm red colors brighten up every space they touch.  My own Christmas decorations include artificial flowers with some poinsettias scattered around in my dining room.

Kayla needs to move over.  Curling up next to a heater with your lovable doggie would be a beautiful way to spend the rest of this already too frigid winter.

Today is the first day I've ventured out, and I waited until temps had been above freezing for a few hours this morning. There was still snow in the middle of the interstate! Crazy!

We're going to have piles of snow hanging around for a while...and we even have a chance for some more over Christmas. We'll see how that goes.

I loved the snow this weekend -- that's for sure. We haven't seen snow like this since the Blizzard of '95.

I went out and played in it like a little child. I even found a neighbor wandering around who was willing to stand still and let me pelt him with snowballs, and then he helped me dig my car out, which was no small task!

Everything was certainly beautiful, and I've never minded much being couped up in the house like some people. My mother kept wanting me to come out to the house (my Daddy could have picked me up), but I did NOT want to be stranded WITH anyone! My friend who loves to drive in any inclement weather she can find came over last night and we stayed up into the wee hours of the morning watching One Tree Hill, which was a perfect ending to the weekend.

The good news is that even without any more precipitation, we'll certainly still have a "White Christmas." We may have snow in the yard until March!
